Job summary
An
exciting and interesting vacancy has presented within the Rharian Fields Specialist Eating Disorder Unit, which
offers a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive service to individuals
experiencing complex eating disorders.
We comprise
of 8 beds, providing inpatient and day patient services for people aged from 17
years old upwards, catering for both male and female service users. We accept clients detained under the Mental
Health Act and those requiring nasogastric feeding.
We
are looking for a kind, caring and compassionate individual, who is highly
motivated, proactive and dedicated to working with service users with complex
eating disorders. Experience is
desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
You must be an excellent team player, being able to
work both autonomously with our service users under supervision of senior staff
members. You must have outstanding
verbal and written communication skills that allow you to build and maintain
professional working relationships with services users and the wider multi-disciplinary
team.
The role will require you to build therapeutic relationships,
facilitate therapeutic groups and 1-1 work with appropriate support. You will also be required to develop your
clinical skills by supporting qualified nursing staff with nursing observations
including taking blood pressures, temperatures, blood glucose levels, ECGs, weight and accurately recording results. You will also be required to provide meal and
post meal support for our service users as well as promoting normalised eating
in all aspects of their life.
Rharian Fields is a therapeutic environment, providing
complimentary therapies including Reiki, Indian head massage, reflexology.

To take a role of supporting individuals within the
inpatient and day-patient services in respect of their nutritional requirements
and have a good understanding of balanced diets as well as the enhanced
nutrition required for those with an eating disorder
To have a working understanding of NICE guidelines for
Eating Disorders and follow this in your daily work.
To deliver of a range of social and recreational
