Job summary
Older Peoples Day Services promotes, supports and improves the mental, physical and emotional well-being of vulnerable people, in order that they can participate in their communities and with their families, and enjoy the best life possible. The aim of the service is to support vulnerable people to remain living in their own homes. An effective Day Service should aim to ensure that this group can participate in and help steer the services required, considering their specific needs. Day Services should also enable service users to make informed decisions and to facilitate access to services across the health, social and voluntary sectors.

Main duties of the job
Job title: Support Worker
Base: Day Services, Curzon Centre, Cleethorpes
Differing shifts dependant on service need between 8:30am and 5pm Mon-Fri
Salary Range 2 £21,841 under 21; £23,875, 21 and over pro rata per annum, fixed salary point.
Older Peoples Day Services supports local people who require services to reduce isolation, who may have medical & social support needs including but not limited to complex health difficulties, mobility issues, frailty and/or dementia.
You will work as part of the Older Peoples Staff Team and under direction and supervision and you will assist service users to access a range of opportunities that will support and enable them to continue to lead meaningful, purposeful lives of their choice. You will provide a range of support/personal care to meet the needs of older people at the centre. You will contribute to supporting the Service Users in areas of daily living skills whilst enabling and maintaining individual existing skills and health and well-being.
Experience of working with vulnerable adults with a range of needs. Effective communication and customer care skills are essential.
A Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care would be advantageous. Previous experience of caring for people in either an employment or voluntary capacity for a minimum of 1 year is a mandatory requirement.
