Job summary

Community Inpatient Unit are looking for Clerical Assistants to join their Team.

Community Inpatient Unit is a bed-based facility supporting people to recover and regain their independence following a period of illness, trauma, surgery, or significant event. It supports hospital discharges, prevents admission to hospital or long-term care and promotes independent living. Its a multi-disciplinary service with Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Social Workers, and care staff.

Main duties of the job

Job title: Clerical Assistant

Base: Community Inpatient Unit

Hours: 30 hours per week Permanent

Range 2: Under 21 £20,702 / Over 21, £22,370 fixed salary point

You will provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to support the effective running of the Community Inpatient Unit. You will be the first point of contact for visitors to the building and you will undertake a range of routine clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, computer work, message taking, telephone enquiries and the processing and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail (including electronic). You will also be using Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint to produce a range of documents e.g letters, reports, presentations as directed.

You will have regular supervision and support from the admin lead at CIU.

You will have Literacy and numeracy Level 2 qualifications and hold a Level 2 (or equivalent level of competence) in computer applications.
