Job summary
The Care Plus Group Moving and Handling (M&H) Service provides training and risk assessment to Care Plus Group staff, a range of health and social care professionals from other organisations, patients and their carers. The training is delivered where required and to the appropriate level. The service contributes to complex assessments of patients/ service users and implements appropriate measures to reduce risk whilst promoting choice and independence. There will be the opportunity to work alongside therapists across a range of services including:
- Adult Learning Disability
- HOPE (Falls and Respiratory Service)
- Intermediate Care @ Home
- Community urgent care team
- Moving and handling
- Community Inpatient Unit
There are highly skilled practitioners within each area that place the individual at the forefront of their care and promote faster recovery from illness, prevent unnecessary acute hospital admissions and premature admissions to long-term care, support timely discharge from hospital and maximise independent living wherever possible. This is achievable through creative and unique interventions within each service area. Multi-professional staff will collaborate with individuals to ensure they achieve their full potential in terms of their level of independence, health and wellbeing. The postholder will provide cover/ support to each service when required.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Care Plus Group (CPG) Moving and Handling Service and work alongside the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist service leads. The post involves delivering Moving and Handling training in the training room at Queen Street, staff workplaces and patients home. You will also be involved with patient Moving and Handling risk assessment and implementation of moving and handling care plans at various locations in the North East Lincolnshire community.
There will be the opportunity to work alongside specialist therapists across a range of services including:
- Adult Learning Disability
- HOPE (Falls and Respiratory Service)
- Intermediate Care @ Home
- Community urgent care team
- Community Inpatient Unit
Assessments of staff individual capability to participate M&H tasks and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments are also offered by the Moving and Handling service with opportunities for you to be involved with these.
Core service hours are 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. There is flexibility to offer alternative working patterns.
