Employability support the worklessness agenda of North East Lincolnshire, delivering a holistic approach to supporting unemployed people on a pathway to sustainable employment. They deliver various employability initiatives including voluntary work based learning, pre apprenticeships, apprenticeships, internships and intermediate labour market opportunities. They aim to empower local people to become socially included within their communities, whilst also breaking down barriers to employment.

Main duties of the job

Job title: Employability Support Officer

Department: Employability Services

Base: Various locations within North Lincolnshire

18.75 hours per week

Fixed term for 6 months

Salary Range 4 £20,397 – £23,839 pro rata per annum. *Pay award pending. You will be appointed on a fixed salary point within the salary range.

You will work as a member of the Employability Team to support the worklessness agenda supporting disadvantaged people such as the long term unemployed, people with learning and physical disabilities, lone parents, experiencing mental health issues to access training and employment within the public, private, and community and voluntary sector. You will assist in developing the Employability voluntary project, apprenticeship scheme, work experience, Intermediate Labour Market project and any other Employability related projects, ensuring participants are supported along the correct pathway tailored to their individual needs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Information and Guidance/Employability practitioner Level 4 or other appropriate qualification at level 4 or extensive experience of the employment sector
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Maths and English at minimum level 2

Desirable

  • HR CIPD level 3

Experience

  • Knowledge/experience of the Work Programme and other DWP contracts
  • Experience of working with a range of people with barriers to employment e.g. physical disabilities, learning disabilities, long term unemployed etc in a training/vocational environment

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge and understanding in the delivery of employment initiatives, including Employability initiatives (including SEND) and apprenticeships.
  • Knowledge of performance management including Individual Learning Plans with tangible outcomes.

  • Standard keyboard skills/IT literate
