We are looking for one Band 6 staff nurse/clinical sister, to join our team on the endeavour stroke rehab unit based at Harmony House. The successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of nursing care. Ideally the candidate would work a variety of shifts; nights, days and weekends. In return we offer the right person the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in Stroke care and become a valued member of our developing service.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the Clinical Lead with setting and maintaining standards of care on the unit
- Lead the clinical team as Nurse in Charge on a day to day basis in the absence of the Clinical Lead.
- Responsible for ensuring excellent clinical standards and care at all times
- Being a role model and leading by example
- Escalate to Clinical Lead (in absence see chart) / on call manager any incidents, concerns etc in a timely manager as part of patient safety, the site management and to ensure our organisational values are maintained.
- Provide expert clinical intervention by promoting timely and appropriate decision making and assessments for patients
- Apply the NMC code to all practice
- Facilitate safe and timely discharges in partnership with our fellow MDT colleagues both those based on the unit and elsewhere.
- Lead/ participate in the daily board round and weekly MDT to ensure effective communication within the team and excellent patient outcomes.

- Informal visits can be arranged on request.
- We will offer you the choice of two pension schemes; the NHS Pension scheme and the scottish widows group pension scheme.
- MCH encourages all staff to be double COVID vaccinated to protect themselves, their colleagues, their family and their patients.
At this time, MCH cannot fund or support any further nurses who require the OSCE training. Please do not apply if you require this training.
