An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band5/ 6 occupational therapist to join our brand new team providing inpatient rehab to community inpatients in Medway.
The team will be aligned with existing stroke and intermediate care teams and so you will be well supported.
You must have some relevant experience of working on a ward. Experience of working in a community setting is desirable but a good understanding of ward work is essential.
There are fantastic opportunities for training and further development through various apprentice schemes, leadership and clinical training courses.

Main duties of the job
- To work as an occupational therapist providing an occupational Therapy service for sites delivering intermediate care and rehabilitation as part of an Interdisciplinary team, to an agreed caseload of patients based on two new step-down wards located in Medway locality.
This will include: -
- Assessment & treatments to facilitate timely discharge from rehabilitation unit
- Supervise the clinical work of students or support workers that may be placed with the post holder.
- To work flexibly as an integral part of the interdisciplinary rehab team, contributing therapy skills to all parts of the team.
- To participate in a working rota with other members of the team to cover weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
