As Head of IT Operations you'll drive innovation through technology to transform patient care and staff capabilities. Join us to lead digital strategy and maximise the value of data, systems and new ways of working.
This is an influential role developing digital skills and partnerships across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
Provide strategic leadership and management of the Digital team, comprising Information Communication & Technology, Service Delivery, Training, Business Intelligence, Information Governance, and Digital Transformation functions. Build strong working relationships across directorates to drive digitally-enabled change.
Lead the development, implementation and optimisation of digital architecture, systems and processes, utilising the latest technologies to support the organisation's vision for integrated, sustainable health and wellbeing services with patients/public at the centre.
Collaborate closely with the Chief Clinical Information Officer to ensure digital programmes and strategy align to clinical priorities and benefits. Foster excellent clinician engagement at all levels.
Communicate complex technical information clearly to staff and lead change management programmes to maximise adoption of new digital ways of working.
Maintain a highly professional, innovative and customer-focused digital capability across the organisation, focused on delivering value for money, enhanced patient/public engagement and empowered staff.
Develop partnerships to identify innovation opportunities, integration, maximise resources and digital skills development.
Provide enabling leadership for organisational transformation through digital, supporting the digital vision and programme delivery

- Post-graduate Masters level qualification in management / leadership

Experience

- Able to demonstrate a senior level of Digital systems and staff management experience.
- Significant experience of managing and leading multi-function digital teams across locations
- Experience of all types of Digital solutions and external procurement for solutions for Hardware, Cloud Storage, Infrastructure and systems.
- An understanding of ITIL processes
- Experience of developing innovative solutions and implementing change at an organisational level.
- Sound knowledge and experience of relevant Cyber security and its risk control.
- Experience and knowledge of software system change projects.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience to enable advice to be provided on current and future digital technologies
- Experience in managing/leading direct IT support provision to large organisations
- Knowledge and experience of infrastructure management.
- Substantial experience in a senior IT position within the public or private sector

- Experience of contract negotiations including reviewing agreements and Service Levels and liaising with solicitors on commercial points.
