An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Human Resources function.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organisational and planning skills, as well as an extensive knowledge of current HR practices and employment law.

This role is part of our HR Operations Team who are responsible for providing the delivery of an efficient and effective generalist HR service to the organisation, ensuring compliance around HR policies and procedures, but also working as an integral part of locality teams, to ensure line management issues and employee relations issues are handled appropriately, and that managers are developed in terms of their capability as people managers.

As part of this team, the AskHR Advisory Lead is a key role that leads a small team in delivering first level HR support and advice to employees and managers, via our AskHR service.

The AskHR service is responsible for maintaining an excellent level of service in a timely manner as well as improving systems and processes to support the wider HR team and the organisation.

This is a hugely varied role with opportunities to get involved in lots of company initiatives and be a part of creating processes, procedures and policies.

It would ideally suit someone who has a passion to deliver an exceptional level of service, is always striving to improve, likes to develop creative solutions and wants their team to come on the journey with them.

Main duties of the job

The AskHR Advisory Lead is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of a centrally based HR advisory service across the whole organisation, through a small team of co-ordinators and administrators.

Working closely with the HR Operations team, the post holder will be responsible for providing professional and confidential HR advice, support and senior level administrative and project services across the full range of HR activities, including employee relations, general employment law, terms and conditions of employment, policies, procedures and a wide range of HR projects.

The AskHR Advisory Lead will work in partnership with the rest of the team supporting the delivery of the people strategy and support any activities as required, advising of any areas of concern being received by the service.

As well as taking the lead in a number of processes such as job evaluation, co-ordinating all associated activities and ensuring all deadlines are met, this role is responsible for developing and improving the AskHR service and updating processes and associated policies as required and then implementing through the team.

A key part of this role will be maintaining systems and databases, ensuring data is provided in a timely manager to support activities across the HR team, as relevant and appropriate.

  • Experience in a generalist senior HR role and/or HR shared service department in a fast-paced multi-site organisation, managing, leading and developing a team
  • Solid knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent IT literacy including knowledge and experience of using HR systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teams to provide an effective service
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities with a highly varied and unpredictable workload, through excellent planning and organisation

Desirable

  • Understanding of Health and/or Social Care services
  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience of using ESR
  • Experience of delivering HR related projects in a planned, organised and timely way
  • Evidence of ability to resolve varied problems using sound logic and taking into consideration relevant implications and able to demonstrate evidence of good decision making

  • Educated to degree level and/or equivalent level of experience
  • CIPD qualified and/or equivalent level of experience
