Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking, Senior Risk Management Officer to work within the Risk Management team, as part of the wider Quality & Safety Team, Sirona care & health.

The post holder will work closely with the Lead for Risk Management and Head of Clinical Governance. Working collaboratively within the Quality and Safety team, we provide support to clinicians, and wider Sirona teams. The Senior Risk Management Officer will be key in supporting the Risk Management Team in the governance of risk and associated programmes of work.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience of risk management, but we would like to hear from you if you have demonstrable, transferable skills and experience from a clinical, operational and governance background. Support and training will be provided to the right candidate.

You will have a key role in assisting the Risk Team in overseeing and developing effective systems for risk monitoring and management. You will actively support improvement programmes of work and be a recognised specialist in the area of risk management.

You will make a substantial contribution in ensuring Sirona provides safe clinical care by identifying themes and trends in risk reporting that may improve care provision. The team is also responsible for undertaking Quality Impact Assessments before any service change is implemented.

We would consider less than full time hours for the right candidate

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Risk Management team that undertakes the day-to-day monitoring and management of the Risk Register on Ulysses. The key element of this being support to all Sirona staff to use the Risk Register effectively.

The post holder will have a good working knowledge of the Ulysses system or be willing to undertake training in order to achieve this.

The post holder will be supporting the Risk Team in its function to ensure that wider organisational service developments undertake a rigorous impact assessment process and support authors to write the impact assessment.

As part of the team, the post holder will also support individuals and teams to respond to requests for information that may include witness statements for court proceedings, ensuring that established processes are followed.

The Risk team provides essential risk reports on a frequent basis to the Sirona Board and Committees and so the post holder will need to be able to analyse data and use this to write accurate, comprehensive, reports that require significant attention-to-detail.

As part of the risk team the post holder will work collaboratively with the wider Quality and Safety Team to ensure the effective clinical governance of the organisation.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills in order to network and liaise with all Sirona teams and at all levels of the organisation, so that staff feel supported with risk and governance issues.
