Job summary

Due to the expansion of our organisation, we are looking for experienced enthusiastic individuals with excellent 1st line/Service Desk support skills to join our team. We are a support team who provide comprehensive Digital support to staff spread across multiple locations Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos.

The role is office based and you will be joining our existing seven Service Desk staff. You should have existing comprehensive support experience based around the Microsoft product range as you will be supporting a wide range of hardware and software. Previous experience on a healthcare based Service Desk is preferred but not essential - the role is based at our headquarters in Kingswood.

So if you have the skills and experience to provide excellent friendly support with the ability to communicate with our users in non IT speak then you may be the person we are looking for.

Main duties of the job

To support the use of IT within Sirona by providing 1st line IT support covering a range of software and hardware running over LAN and WAN infrastructures.

The post holder will administer the Service Desk system, logging all calls, diagnosing software and hardware faults, allocate jobs accordingly to 2nd line and other teams and monitor the status of open jobs in line with the department’s Service Level Agreements. Strong communication is key to this role and the post holder will need to be very effective in this area.

  • Microsoft IT Qualification, eg MCP
  • NVQ3 or equivalent qualification
  • Or relevant demonstrable experience

Desirable

  • ITIL v3
  • Further specialist IT qualification eg MCDST

  • Detailed knowledge and experience (to an intermediate level) of current and some legacy PC software, including, but not limited to operating systems and Microsoft products
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of personal computers and their major components to an advanced level
  • Previous relevant experience of using Microsoft operating systems and applications at a technical support level to at least a first line level.
