are looking for highly knowledgeable applicants with significant MSK
experience to work in our dynamic service in Bristol, North Somerset and
South Gloucestershire. Due to the integrated nature of the service
there is opportunity to discuss portfolio roles appropriate to your
experience and career aspirations. The roles currently available include
B7 & B8a First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP), B8a Advanced MSK
Physiotherapist and locality Musculoskeletal Interface (MSKI) and FCP lead , and
B7 MSK Physiotherapy (MSKP) roles.
The Advanced MSK
Physiotherapist & Locality Operational Lead MSKI & FCP will be
responsible for the day to day operations of the MSKI team in the vibrant
City of Bristol. The role includes
line management, mentoring and supervision of Advanced Physiotherapy
Practitioners in the MSKI team and FCPs in Primary Care. The post holder
would be part of a supportive leadership group with locality leads from South
Gloucestershire and North Somerset and would report to the Clinical and
Operational Lead for MSK and FCP services.
As well as
operational duties you would maintain a caseload of patients requiring
advanced level assessment, diagnostic and management skills of patients
referred from primary care or within the Sirona MSK pathway.
Main duties of the job
Manage absence and performance within the team, with support from MSKI CLOP and HR as appropriate.
Line manage B7 & B8a Advanced Physiotherapists and support direct reports in their line management.
Provide day-to-day management of estates.
Ensuring efficient service delivery in locality, including proactive diary monitoring and ensuring aligned and equitable diary modelling.
Liaise closely with other locality leads across BNSSG MSKI.
Supports the MSKI CLOP in monitoring and recording capacity and demand modelling, and evaluating and addressing service performance.
As an autonomous advanced practitioner you would be expected to be / working towards
Ir(me)r trained and used to providing musculoskeletal investigations (Xray, MRI, USS, NCS and interventional radiology).
Musculoskeletal Injection therapy trained
Effectively using and promoting Shared Decision Making.
A Non – Medical Prescriber.

Essential
- Degree in Physiotherapy.
- Registration with HCPC.
- Can demonstrate experience of working to a Masters level/ Level 7. E.g. Masters modules
- Evidence of working as a clinical supervisor and educator.
- Holds an Musculoskeletal injection therapy qualification or working towards it.
- Evidence of current or previous completion of Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) and experience of referring for diagnostic investigations
Desirable
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
- Completion of relevant Leadership and/ or management training course.
- Post graduate qualification in delivering Non-Medical Prescribing.

- In depth knowledge of national guidelines and local commissioning policies.
- Advanced knowledge, understanding and integration of evidence-based practice with respect to diagnostic investigations e.g. X-rays, MRIs, Bloods, Ultrasound.
- Experience of teaching, supervising, and mentoring a broad range of clinicians

- Using leadership behaviours (above) to contribute towards system wide change
- Experience of being a primary investigator in a research trial and publishing the research
- Experience of developing, delivering and publishing evidence-based system wide of clinical pathways / guidelines.
