Job summary
Sirona care & health are looking to recruit highly knowledgeable and experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapists for the role of locality lead musculoskeletal physiotherapist within the musculoskeletal physiotherapy (MSKP) service.
The successful candidate will be a key and integral part of the senior clinical team, responsible for the day to day operations of the MSK physiotherapy team in the vibrant city of Bristol. The role will include line management, mentoring and supervision of MSK physiotherapists, as well as day-to-day management of identified estates.
In addition to operational duties, you will maintain a caseload of patients referred from primary care, secondary care or within the MSK pathway. The post holder will work closely with the other locality leads to ensure resilience across the geography and will also be required to support the MSK Physiotherapy Geographical Clinical Leads through providing clinical leadership as required e.g. leading in-service training and providing clinical mentorship to junior staff to support the delivery of clinical excellence across the team.
This post will benefit from being fully integrated within the wider MSK pathway, including access to musculoskeletal interface (MSKI) and podiatry services, peer support, and expert advice from advanced MSKI physiotherapy, FCP and secondary care colleagues, and a governance framework including audit and research.
Main duties of the job
Demonstrate specialist knowledge across the range of work procedures and practice: surgical, medical and conservative within the MSK field, both spinal and peripheral.
Line manages Band 6 physiotherapists and supports direct reports in their line management responsibilities of the Band 5 and Band 4 members of the MSK physiotherapy team.
Manages absence and performance issues for their identified team, with support from MSKP CLOP and HR as appropriate.
Provides day-to-day management of identified estates. This will include identifying any issues that may arise, reporting these promptly to the MSKP CLOP and providing support in the resolution of these.
Manages daily operational issues within the service, escalating to MSKP CLOP where necessary.
Assists MSKP CLOP in ensuring efficient service delivery in local team, including proactive diary monitoring and ensuring aligned and equitable diary modelling.
Liaise closely with other locality leads across BNSSG MSK physiotherapy and MSKP CLOP to ensure a consistent approach.
Supports the MSKP CLOP in monitoring and recording capacity and demand modelling, and evaluating and addressing service performance.
Supports MSK physiotherapy Geographical Clinical Leads` in delivering clinical leadership to junior members of the MSK physiotherapy team
