Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapy technician to work primarily at Claremont Special School but also to be part of the North Area Children's Physiotherapy Team.
The Children’s Therapy Services identify, assess, support and manage the health needs of children and young people aged 0-18 years, working closely with children and their families in health settings and family homes; and with education colleagues in early years and school settings
The Children’s Therapy services cover Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Services are offered in various parts of these localities to facilitate easy access for families.
Main duties of the job
You will be supporting the therapy team at Claremont school carrying out physiotherapy programmes with the students, supporting orthotics, seating and wheelchair clinics as well as working along-side the LSAs in school to support the students with postural management in terms of specialist equipment, hydrotherapy and advice. During the holidays the therapy team offer home visits to families and you will be part of a multi-professional team including OTs, Speech and Language therapists and paediatricians. As a service we offer training on a monthly basis and offer a range of opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills with regular supervision. You will be based at Claremont Special School but will meet regularly with colleagues from the community team .As part of the wider CCHP Physiotherapy Team, you may be required to work in other parts of the service both within Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

- Experience of Multi agency working requiring communication with educational service, social services, opportunity groups, preschools, nurseries and schools etc.
- Experience of working with children/ young people who require adapted / alternative methods of communication (e.g. Makaton)
