Job summary
We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join The Haven service, providing high-quality general medical care to refugees and asylum seekers accessing the service.
You will be responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred clinical care to a complex and diverse patient population.In this role, you will provide senior clinical leadership and expert support to the Haven Clinical Team; with a focus on clinical quality, service improvement, clinical governance and innovation.
The Haven is part of the Health Equity and Inclusion Services portfolio and is managed under Specialist Advice and Support Services.
The service is based at Montpellier Health Centre in Bristol, but clinics may be delivered in a variety of venues including hotels, drop-in centres and dispersed accommodation.
Main duties of the job
- Provide GP clinical services as part of a team, for patients within the Haven service using translation services to enhance communication and in a culturally sensitive manner
- Expert clinical and governance advisor to the team, providing clinical supervision and support to the nursing staff and other GPs working in the service.
- Undertake a range of duties commensurate with the size and seniority of the role, ensuring the delivery of agreed quality and performance outcomes for the service.
- Contribute actively to the quality assurance of the service by supporting Clinical and Operational Leads in developing patient pathways, Sirona policies, and guidelines, and by helping deliver training and education programmes, both internally and externally.
- Provide leadership alongside the Clinical and Operational Leads by setting a clear direction for service planning, leading discussions on service requirements, and ensuring the delivery of an innovative, high-quality service for this client group
