Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy (OTPT) Assistant to join the Community Therapy team supporting children and young people across North Bristol and BNSSG.
You will work within special schools and a range of community settings including clinics, mainstream schools, early years settings and children's homes. The role involves supporting therapy programmes, assisting with interventions, and contributing to the development of children and young people's functional skills and independence in line with therapy plans.
The role is based within the North Bristol team with travel across multiple sites required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are therefore essential.
This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be to work directly with children and young people to deliver specific skilled support and therapy programmes which have been set out by the Occupational and / or Physiotherapists; such as fine and gross motor tasks, play self-care skills.
You will be be involved in supporting therapists in specialist equipment assessments, maintain and administer equipment as well as assisting with clinics.
You will be required to record your work in the child's medical records and report back to the therapists.
There will be the need to make some resources, manage stock, and clinic space and support the set up and running of clinics.
You will be expected to attend regular supervision and training but will need to be able to work autonomously.
You will need to have good communication skills while working with children and families and with education and health colleagues.
