We are looking to recruit a Band 6 mental health nurse to join our friendly supportive community mental health team who work across BNSSG to provide mental health support in the community. You will assess and provide mental health support to patients who are in- patients on Sirona sites, providing mental health input to help facilitate their recovery.
The team work closely together and have regular training and development in relation to their roles, such as trauma training along with support for their mandatory training and other training needs as identified.
The role allows for creativity, flexibility and an opportunity to nurse in a way that you would like to be cared for, using your nursing qualification and experience. No two days will be the same providing a varied and enjoyable role.
This is a 30.4 hr post working across Monday to Friday, hours to be agreed.
You will be well supported by the line manager and the experienced team with bi- weekly peer supervision meetings, along with administration support, as well as having the opportunity for joint visits if required.
Sirona care & health have a wide range of services to support this role such as the well-being service, dementia advisors as well as working closely with the voluntary sector.
Main duties of the job
- To provide mental health input to patients who are in-patients within Sirona hospital beds and rehabilitation units across BNSSG.
- Receive triage and assess referrals in a timely manner and communicate back to the referrer.
- Provide guidance, information and complete a relevant template or arrange to visit and support patients with their mental health needs to facilitate rehabilitation back home and identifying triggers that maybe preventing rehabilitation and recovery.
- Liaise with the relevant team and refer on to other services as required.
- Supporting the staff team who work on the unit delivering training as identified
- Work within a community based mental health nurse team
- You will need to be able to demonstrate compassion, kindness, and listening skills.
- Part of the work will be to analyse the service and the data to help Sirona plan for the future development of the service
