The Children's Autism Assessment team provides a service to children and young peopleand their families for diagnostic assessment of possible Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Main duties of the job

You will have overall responsibility for the provision of an efficient and effective administrative service for the Children's Autism Assessment Service.

You will be responsible forthe supervision of the administrative teams within the Children's Autism Diagnostic Assessment Service, providing administrative cover as and whennecessarywithin the Department.

You will exercise initiative, independent judgement anddecision makingarising from situations within this role. The post-holderis required toliaise with other departments, GPs, Social Services,Educationand thegeneral public.

You will work jointly with the ASD Admin Manager to ensure the timelymanagement of waiting lists and clinical records management.

Desirable

  • Safeguarding Children Training at Level 2
  • NVQ Level 3/QCF in administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

  • Experience in prioritising tasks from a number of people
  • Experience in communicating clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Experience using Microsoft Office systems with good keyboard skills
  • An understanding of data protection, patient confidentiality and freedom of information
