Job summary

Are you ready for a fantastic opportunity to lead the technical transformation in the domain of Healthcare. Sirona, a leader in the provision of community healthcare in Bristol and the surrounding area, is seeking a dynamic and experienced digital engineer to lead our infrastructure transformation.

The role will lead, plan and manage the overall direction on technical infrastructure design and policy, including the implementation of industry best practice and process, and cyber security optimisation. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of community healthcare through digital excellence.

Main duties of the job

Lead the technical planning and introduction of new strategic IT systems into Sirona across the whole client and server estate.

Responsible for the technical design of Sirona IT estate, including maintenance of strategic roadmaps for all infrastructure components.

Develop and delivery technical services continual improvement plans for the different components of the technical infrastructure, and associate processes and policies. Liaise with Clinical leads to ensure business requirements and priorities drive plans.

Lead and plan work with strategic 3rd party suppliers to manage any infrastructure changes across our estate.

Provide expert support to engineering team, including the co-ordination of work and tasks, coaching, and mentoring of polices and processes as well as technical advice to industry best practice.

Research developments in the IT industry and how they could benefit Sirona in clinical and non-clinical environments.

  • oEducated to Master's degree level or equivalent occupational experience
  • oSpecialist training and IT professional qualification/certification for example Microsoft and Cisco Accreditations

  • oITIL Foundation v3 or v4

  • oExtensive experience providing 3rd line support, design and advice in complex secure environment of on premise, hosted and cloud infrastructure.
  • oIn depth Knowledge and significant experience of managing VMware (or similar), Active Directory, Azure, SAN, WAN, Networking, Data Centres.
  • oExperience of managing, allocating and monitoring work across multiple technical areas to first and second line engineering teams. A collaborative, team player who is willing to share knowledge with other team members.
  • oHigh level of expertise required to be able to analyse and prioritise highly complex IT problems, proposing detailed solutions, testing systems, offering advice and guidance to staff and colleagues. The ability to interpret and diagnose problems and take action to remedy, across different technical disciplines.
