Job summary

We are seeking an Aquatic Therapy Assistant to join us at the Hydrotherapy pool in Soundwell, where we provide a warmwater envrionment and aquatic therapy to both adults and children with a variety of conditions including learning and/or neurological disabilities.

This service also offers a self-funded option for people with long term conditions to access the pool to complete self-care programmes developed with a therapist.

We are seeking a person with experience in pool maintenance and/or physiotherapy assistant skills. However, we can provide training and support to facilitate role development.

Main duties of the job

Support the work of Physiotherapists across Sirona with the provision and delivery of Aquatic therapy programmes
Deliver specific skilled aquatictherapy to pool users
Support the pool manager to ensure that the pool operates to safety standards.

Qualifications

Essential

Recognised childcare, healthcare or social care qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience.

Desirable

Hold accredited Pool Plant training qualification
Completion of an aquatic therapy for assistants course
Completion of pool evacuation training

Experience

Essential

Relevant experience of working with children and/or adults with learning disabilities
Ability to manage time, plan and prioritise a range of tasks throughout the day.
To be able to use IT for key team functions (e.g. MS Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, EMIS) as well as specific clinical related uses as required

Desirable

Experience working in a hydrotherapy pool delivering care plans
Experience of working with children and young people presenting with difficulties in the areas of physical movement, fine motor activities, communication, social communication and activities of daily living, (or any combination of these) and their families.
