Job summary

There has never been a more exciting time to apply for a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship (RNDA). The RNDA Apprenticeship is a 2 year progress route following a Nurse Associate or Assistant Practitioner qualification, being offered in collaboration with Higher Education Institutes and training providers.

This work based apprenticeship provides the opportunity to develop both professionally and academically in order to register with the Nursing Midwifery Council as a qualified Nurse. If you are looking for a new and exciting challenge then we would welcome an application from you.

You will develop within this post, commencing in a fixed term Band 4 Nurse Apprentice role. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will register with the NMC and are guaranteed an interview for a Band 5 Nurse role.

RNDA apprentices develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies which includes working in health settings and delivery of person-centred healthcare. You will be supported by a wealth of clinically experienced nurses in our services. We have opportunities in the following locations:

  • Woodspring Locality

The RNDA course combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and Higher Education Institutes. As an RNDA you will be based as an employee in a team, working as part of the multi disciplinary team and gain a wide appreciation of many health and care contexts.

Main duties of the job

Registered nurses are a statutorily regulated profession and the standards for proficiency are set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Successful completion of this apprenticeship will meet the education requirements to see registration with the NMC.

The broad purpose of the occupation is to play a vital role in providing, leading, coordinating and evaluating care that is compassionate, evidence based, and person centred. You are accountable for your own actions and those who you delegate to. You must be able to work autonomously, or as an equal partner with a range of other professionals.

Registered nurses make an important contribution to the promotion of health, health protection and the prevention of ill health. They do this by empowering people, communities and populations to exercise choice, take control of their own health decisions and behaviours and by supporting people to manage their own care where possible.
