Job summary
First
Dietitians are a friendly, approachable team of 20 dietitians, 2 dietetic
assistants and 2 administrators delivering adult and paediatric services across
East Surrey and parts of West Sussex in a range of community settings,
including, face to face and virtual clinics, specialist schools, and patients
own homes.
Our vision is to be a
trailblazer for food and nutrition and we are committed to service development,
through public involvement, quality improvement and innovative new service
models. We encourage all members of the team to be involved in service
development and support innovative ideas to improve the efficiency of our services
and patients experience. This is a new post which has come out of a recent,
detailed service and caseload review by the paediatric dietetic team.
The post
holder will manage their own varied caseload providing dietetic services to patients
in a variety of settings, including clinics, parent/carer groups, specialist
schools and patients own homes. Some services are delivered virtually and we
support hybrid working. You will play a key role in the nutritional management
of patients with a variety of diagnoses and provide education and support to children,
their families and other health care professionals. We want a team player who
cares about their patients to help us achieve our mission, changing lives
through food.
Main duties of the job
As
a community dietitian, you will be a key member of the MDT and uniquely placed
to build relationships with children and their families, positively influencing
their health and wellbeing through offering expert nutritional advice. Your clinical
case load will comprise home enterally fed patients requiring nutrition support
and patients with a variety of clinical needs including allergy, complex
feeding difficulties, premature babies (after discharge), weight management and
other specialist dietetic interventions.
We pride
ourselves on the wide variety of skills and knowledge the team possesses, providing
opportunities to shadow and partake in CPD with the wider team and with other
paediatric dietetic teams. We recognise the importance of flexible working and
would encourage candidates to discuss opportunities for this with us.
Candidates
with previous experience in either the acute or community settings are
encouraged to apply, as skills are transferrable. We would also encourage
applicants interested in either full or part-time hours. Please do get in touch
if you would like any further information.
