An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assessment Nurse / Paramedic to join our small friendly clinical team in the Caterham Minor Injuries Unit within Caterham Dene Hospital.

The service is open 8am 8pm; 7 days per week; 365 days per year, serving the patients of East Surrey and the surrounding areas.

This is a practitioner-led unit, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults and children attending with a wide variety of minor injury and minor illness conditions.

Main duties of the job

The Assessment nurse/paramedic role is integral to the Minor Injury unit patient pathway and is responsible for assessing patients as they arrive in the service to ensure that the Minor Injury unit is the right service for the patient and to ensure that they see the appropriate clinician in a timely fashion.

The assessment nurse/paramedic has responsibility for the patients in the waiting room and ensures that the Minor Injury Unit runs smoothly and efficiently.

Experience of working in an Emergency or Urgent Care environment would be preferable but not essential as training will be available for the right candidate .

To be a shift co-ordinator as required.

  • Current NMC/HCPC Registration

  • RGN/paramedic with minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
