An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Emergency Practitioner to join our team in the Caterham Minor Injuries Unit. The Unit is open 8am 8pm; 7 days per week; 365 days per year, x-ray on site open every day.

Situated at Caterham Dene Community Hospital the Minor Injury Unit is a practitioner-led unit, providing a service for adults and children that require treatment of minor injuries and minor medical conditions.

Main duties of the job

The practitioner needs to autonomously take a full history and examination, request investigations, interpret the results, diagnose, and plan treatment then discharge patients attending with undifferentiated and undiagnosed minor injuries and minor illnesses.

  • Worked in ED / UTC / MIU as an ENP / ECP autonomously seeing and treating patients with minor injuries / minor ailments.

Desirable

  • Line management experience
  • Experience of developing services

Qualifications

  • Registered First Level Nurse / Paramedic
  • Current NMC / HCPC Registration
  • Minor injury and Minor Illness qualification.
  • Irmer and X-ray interpretation training
  • Demonstrates clear evidence of on-going professional development.

Desirable

  • Non-medical Prescriber.
  • Working towards or gained MSc in Advanced Practice.
