Are you an experienced people professional who is highly organised, motivated, enthusiastic and has experience of working within a People Management position? If so, this could be the role for you.
We are looking for a people professional with excellent influencing and communication skills to join our small and friendly team on a fixed term contract until the end of May 2024. Secondments are also welcome.
In this vital role, you will work alongside the management teams on a day to day basis providing highly specialised people advice to all groups of staff across a range of issues to include performance and absence management, employee relations, change management, grievance and disciplinary matters.
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, professional and efficient people service to the organisation, focusing on giving specialist advice and guidance in relation to complex employee relations cases, you will manage relationships with external providers, lead on the development and review of policies and ensure all people services are working in line with the required KPIs and best practice.
This is a full-time hybrid role (37.5 hours per week) with a combination of working from home and in the office at least one day a week.

Main duties of the job
You will support the Deputy Head of People on the delivery of workforce plans, Health and Wellbeing, Inclusion, people management training and supporting on various projects and initiatives, to enable the organisation to deliver its People Plan and strategic business objectives.
Ideally you will also have knowledge and experience of analysing and reporting on workforce data to support the organisation internally and externally with data submissions.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be CIPD qualified to Post Graduate Diploma Level or equivalent
- Have extensive experience of working within a senior people position within the NHS
- Have experience of managing staff within a people function
- Have significant experience of providing advice and guidance to managers/staff on general people and/or employee relations issues of a highly complex / sensitive nature.
- Experience of producing reports, managing organisational change and drafting policies and procedures
- Have an excellent understanding and working knowledge of employment law
- Ability to advise, support and coach managers
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Have the ability to build effective working relationships with managers and staff at all levels
- Be at ease working in a busy and demanding environment and also working remotely
