Job summary

Do you want a new challenge to build on the existing skills through working with the prison community? This is new role supporting our advanced practice physiotherapist to develop the service delivered to our Surrey prisons

Come and join this friendly and innovative MSK service at First Community. The focus is on you and your development splitting time between prisons, where you will support the reinvigoration of the service, setting up classes and introducing self care and prevention, through to supporting our MSK work and increasing your skills in management and service development.

Our MSK service and Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative physio with excellent communication skills and knowledge to join our vibrant teams.

The role will be based across the following prisons; HMP; Coldingley (Woking), Send (Woking), DownView and Highdown (Banstead)

First Community MSK service and CNWL are committed to service development through public involvement, quality improvement and innovative new service models.

Continued professional and personal development is strongly encouraged and the post holder will be part of an active in-service training programme including our FCPs and APPs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of a mixed caseload including complex conditions. They will work closely with the other prison physiotherapists and provide supervision and support to the physiotherapy assistant. The prison clinic is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a MDT including GPs, Consultants, Pharmacists, nurses, and exercise professionals providing a high standard of healthcare to this diverse population.

The successful applicant will have experience as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist in an outpatient setting. They will be a team player and experienced in supervising staff. They should have evidence of relevant post-graduate training as well as effective communication and problem-solving skills.
