Physiotherapy Assistant
The closing date is 22 October 2025
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Team.
This post is currently split between East Surrey Hospital, Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Therapies Unit but the main base may move to central Redhill early 2026.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, empathetic and motivated about working with patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of our friendly team supporting the physiotherapists with running gym classes as well as being responsible for your own caseload of patients, transferred to you by the MSK physiotherapists.
The gym classes contain both exercise and education elements so being confident talking to a group of people is a useful skill to have but you would be supported to develop this if necessary and hopefully progress to running some classes independently.
Clinically, you will be supported by the Physiotherapy Team, guiding you in the appropriate exercises and education to provide to patients under your care.
You will also be responsible for the day to day cleaning and planning maintenance of equipment, ordering of stock, inputting data onto our electronic patient administration system and assisting the team with quality improvement work.
You will need to be physically fit, have good communication skills and the ability to be flexible and adaptable. We expect you to be able to recognise when a situation falls outside of your level of responsibility and competency and be able to communicate this efficiently and effectively with other members of the team.
If you are appointed, you will become a valuable member of a friendly team who are committed to providing a high quality patient focussed service.
