Speech & Language Therapy Assistant

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team.

The successful applicant will work alongside our qualified clinicians to deliver individual and class-based therapy for patients with speech and language therapy needs.

Candidates need to be able to work autonomously and as part of a group. The post-holder will be supported by senior clinicians to develop skills in delivering therapy to patients.

The post holder will be required to support with administrative tasks for the team, including management of diaries, booking of appointments, sending patient information and supporting with smooth set up and booking of group therapy sessions/education sessions.

Central to this role are:

  • strong communication skills
  • an interest in provision of care for patients with a need for speech and language therapy input
  • an ability to provide clerical support to the clinical teams
  • experience of working autonomously and as part of a team

You must be a licensed car driver and have access to a car for this post.

Main duties of the job

Administrative tasks to support planning and delivery of clinical services.

Delivery of prescribed speech and language therapy programmes under the supervision of qualified team members.
