incontinence can occur at all stages in life and for many different reasons. It
can result in a significant reduction in self-esteem, depression and loss of
independence. It can affect
relationships and even an individuals employment.
As
a continence specialist nurse you can change lives through the right
assessment, treatment and management plan.
Our
small, friendly Continence Team is looking for a Band 5/Band 6 registered
nurse (dependent on experience), to join the team.
This is an
excellent developmental opportunity for a registered nurse looking to enhance
their clinical skills. We will support the post holder through their
development to ensure they are confident and competent in this specialist role.

As the post holder will work across
multiple sites and visit patients in their own homes, candidates must have a
full driving license and access to a car for work purposes.

Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, developing,
implementing, and evaluating specialist continence care. They will support individuals and their
families or carers in the community with the aim of optimising patients' levels
of continence, independence and self-care.
The post
holder will be the named nurse within the team for the management of those
patients who are unable to attend the community continence clinics ensuring our
continence specialist service is accessible to all.
The post
holder will act as an expert resource on continence care, providing training as
required to other health care professionals.
