Job summary

Do you want to start or develop your career providing NHS care to patients in their own homes?

An opportunity has arisen within the District Nursing Service at First Community for a 30 hour band 2 Phlebotomist.

You will be responsible for taking blood samples from housebound patients in a competent and professional manner, in line with agreed protocols and standards.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide phlebotomy to patients in the community setting under the direction of a qualified nurse. You will work independently within a supportive team structure.

You will need to be able to communicate clearly with excellent written, verbal and IT skills. You will need to be able to prioritise your day and be familiar with all routine blood tests and understand their clinical importance.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you are able to drive, have a car suitable for business purposes, and hold a clean driving licence.
