Nursing Associate Band 4

The Integrated Neighbourhood Teams are looking for a Band 4
Nursing Associate to join our community nursing team across the neighbourhoods
of Addlestone.
The Community Team
visit patients in their own home as well as care homes. We offer excellent
opportunities for training and development of both your clinical and leadership
skills. The team has experienced Senior District Nurses who will ensure that
you have the necessary support for your personal development. The community
nursing service works over a 7-day week 8.00am to 8.00pm offering a variable
shift pattern and includes weekend and bank holiday working.
This post requires a
Nursing Associate qualification. Newly qualified nursing associates are encouraged
to apply for this position.
You will be
supported with a comprehensive induction and training package as needed, to
help you settle in, with the time and opportunity to get to know the people on
your caseload, along with development opportunities.

Purpose:
The Nursing
Associate will support the Nursing workforce to provide safe effective care;
ensuring evidence-based care for patients under the indirect supervision of a
registered nurse (RN).
The Nursing
Associate will be proficient and competent and work within their scope of
practice as governed by the NMC Code (2018) and NMC Standards of Proficiency
(2018).
The Nursing
Associate may be expected to participate in audits and service improvement
initiatives.
The Nursing
Associate will be expected to supervise and support HCAs, Trainee Nursing
Associates and Pre-registration nurses.
It is anticipated
that this role will continue to develop through the acquisition of further
skills based on NMC (2018) guidelines and development of the Nursing Associate
role.
Principal
duties to include:
Deliver clinical care to patients as
required within set protocols and within the scope of the Nursing Associates
practice.
Contribute to patient assessment (after
appropriate delegation from the RN) and plan and deliver high standards of
care.
Co-ordinate a team of Health Care
Assistants in care delivery and where appropriate other students on the FdSc
programme.
Take responsibility for a group/caseload
of patients as required and when delegated by a RN.
Delegate tasks (not responsibility) to
other members of the clinical care team as appropriate, e.g. Healthcare support
workers, family members and lay carers.
Assist in the delivery of health
promotion advice as appropriate to role and in line with own level of
competence.
Undertake agreed delegated enhanced
tasks as specified in local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), competencies
under the indirect supervision of an RN.
