Job summary
Following a retendering process, the children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of April 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE transfer along with other colleagues.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, motivated, inspirational and innovative School Nurses to join our experienced School Health team within Children and Family Health Surrey. The post will be at Mole Valley borough of Surrey, based at Leatherhead Clinic.
You will be a highly skilled clinical practitioner, with leadership and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will also have a strong approach to teamwork whilst also demonstrating the ability to work on your own initiative. You will have a good understanding of children, young people and their families and the ability to deliver the Healthy Child Programme to a diverse population across specific geographical areas of Surrey.

Main duties of the job
Works collaboratively with the skill mixed school nurse team to ensure equity of service provision, promoting good practice and the sharing of resources.
Prioritises own work in line with areas of highest risk or client groups with greatest health need, delegating other work to the wider skill mixed team whilst providing the team with supervision and support
Build and develop good working relationships with named schools and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Work collaboratively with all relevant agencies to influence/develop policies which will enhance health
Assist in the planning and may participate in the delivery of enuresis clinics and continence assessments
Design deliver and evaluate planned programmes of health promotion to CYP either through one to one contact, group work or through delivery of school based PSHE lessons

Identify and support CYP who have unmet health needs, provide support and targeted interventions and where necessary refer to specialist services
Undertake health needs assessments for children who are looked after or from hard to reach group
Attend child protection conferences/core groups as required and participate in safeguarding supervision
