Job summary
To
work as part of the Hotel Services team ensuring a clean and safe environment
through the delivery of a quality cleaning service, in compliance with CSH Schedules,
Procedures and Policies.
Service
of refreshments and snacks to patients, including providing assistance at meal
service.
To have
good communication links and provide customer service between Hotel Services, patients,
clinical teams, other co-owners, and visitors.
To
provide a general portering service, including the safe transportation of
persons and items around the Hospital.
Post
holder must be able to follow a schedule, but also work on own initiative.
Note: we do not offer UKVI sponsorship, and so all applicants require a
current right to work in the UK.
Main duties of the job
Vacuuming,
mopping, buffing floors and clearing spillages.
Damp dusting
fixtures, fittings, ledges and furniture.
High dusting.
Clean sinks,
baths, showers, w.c.s and fittings including dispensers & replenish
supplies.
Empty waste
bins, clean and replenish sacks. Ensure clinical waste is appropriately tagged.
Setting
dining tables and assist with patient meal service. Carry out ward beverage
rounds throughout the day, and serve snacks.
Clearing and
washing up following meal service. Ensure waste food is disposed of
appropriately.

Principal
duties to include:
1.
To carry out duties as set out in the
Departmental/Ward Schedules & Procedures and NHS guidance to ensure a safe
and clean environment.
2.
Provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors
and co-owners in an efficient and timely manner.
3.
As Housekeeper duties will include:
- Vacuuming,
mopping, buffing floors and clearing spillages.
- Damp dusting
fixtures, fittings, ledges and furniture.
- High dusting.
- Clean sinks,
baths, showers, w.c.s and fittings including dispensers & replenish
supplies.
- Undertake
legionella flushing as required and record.
- Empty waste
bins, clean and replenish sacks. Ensure clinical waste is appropriately tagged.
- Spot clean
internal glass.
- Routine
curtain changing or following infection.
- Clean
telephones.
- Setting
dining tables and assist with patient meal service. Carry out ward beverage
rounds throughout the day, and serve snacks.
- Clearing and
washing up following meal service. Ensure waste food is disposed of
appropriately.
- Clean kitchen
including dishwasher and fridges. Check food is covered and dated ensure
stock rotation of ward provisions.
- Monitor &
record fridge temperatures daily.
- Completion of
cleaning check lists daily.
- Clean
housekeeping cupboard and equipment daily and store in a safe manner. Store
chemicals securely when not in use. Report any faults to the Supervisor. Launder
mops daily.
- Liaise with
ward manager to identify any additional cleans e.g. on patient discharge or
isolation rooms.
- Assist with
training and instructing of new or agency staff.
As a Porter, duties will include:

4.
To provide a high standard of customer service to
all patients, visitors and staff. Assist with general enquiries. Ensure all
communication is conducted politely and clearly
5.
Ensure action is taken to promote the on-going
safety and security of the site including safe key handling, and alarming
building. When portering ensure the security of the building and undertake
locking and unlocking. Challenge inappropriate visitors.
6.
Respond to any portering requests which may be received
face to face or via phone/radio, in a timely manner.
7.
Ensure all equipment used during the course of
duties is in good working order, safe and clean.
8.
To act as advised in accordance with statutory
regulations relating to Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety, Manual Handling,
Food Safety, Infection Control Policy, Safeguarding and NHS Guidance. Ensure
patient privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
9.
To maintain up to date training by e-learning or
face to face sessions.
10.
Respond to the fire alarm and support the response
to the incident as instructed by the fire incident controller.
11.
To have a flexible approach to the delivery of
Hotel Services.
12.
To Assist with other Hotel Services Assistant functions
e.g. catering assistant if required and following appropriate training

clear manner reflecting CSHs Values and Behaviours. Respond appropriately to
people who are behaving in a challenging manner.
3.
Attending
and participating in Hotel Services team meetings and corporate briefings.
4.
Report
any accidents, incidents, and building or equipment faults to your supervisor
or manager.
