Job summary

The postholder will make a significant difference to our clients and our staff. Depending on the area they work, a volunteer will undertake a variety of activities including helping to signpost, talking to patients, and supporting our Health Visiting and School Nursing teams.

No experience is needed to be a volunteer however, due to the differing needs of staff and patients, it is essential you behave in a respectful and compassionate manner whilst always maintaining responsibility.

If you are looking to expand your skillset and gain valuable experience for your CV, volunteering can really help. Being a volunteer in the NHS is a rewarding opportunity. This opportunity is for a minimum of 4 hours per week for at least 6 months.

A mandatory corporate induction day must be attended prior to starting this voluntary role. If you would like to join our team as a volunteer and support Children and Families across North East Surrey then please submit your application.

  • Assisting with simple tasks, such as setting up and clearing away equipment
  • Cleaning equipment between use
  • Assist parents/carers with self-weigh process following appropriate training
  • Ensuring leaflets and information is available and accessible
  • Supporting with updating notice boards
  • Guiding parents/carers and helping with wayfinding
  • Supporting parents/carers to complete feedback on our service
  • Acting as a buddy for new volunteers

  • Assist with appropriate tasks following any necessary training
