Job summary

Are you interested in working within an upbeat, enthusiastic and supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants to learn from and share ideas with? If so then working for Children and Family Health Surrey (CFHS) may be for you.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with a special interest in working with preschool children (under 5 years of age) and their families, to join our supportive and creative team.

You will work as a member of our well established and friendly Early Years Team. This is a challenging, varied and rewarding role. Day to day you will be conducting assessments, writing reports and running therapy sessions (groups or individual) for a varied population of 0-5 year olds including children with language delays and disorders, social communication disorders, speech difficulties, stammering, Down Syndrome, general delay and much more. You may work from a variety of settings (e.g. health centres, family centres, nurseries and patients homes).

You will be based in the SW Quadrant of Surrey which covers Guildford, Farnham and surrounding areas. The majority of your clinical time will be working from one of our bases in either Guildford or Farnham but you will also need to travel to surrounding areas to visit nursery settings, family centres and occasionally patient's homes.

Please note, this vacancy is currently not open for visa sponsorship.

Main duties of the job

As part of your role, you will also be involved in delivering training to nursery/school staff, parents and other professionals. You may also support Speech and Language Therapy Assistants.

We firmly believe that the best services for the children we serve come out of effectively training and supporting our therapists. As such you will be supported by the following:

- Regular supervision with your line manager (a more senior Speech and Language Therapist)

- Guidance and support on achieving clinical competencies for the autonomous status of newly qualified staff

- Opportunities to attend in-house training workshops run across Surrey to update your knowledge and skills throughout the year.

- Access to a well-developed Learning and Development department offering leadership and personal development opportunities to support your Personal Development Plan.

- Working as part of a fantastic team, who share challenges and celebrate successes together

As a team, we all need to be able to travel between sites across Surrey, therefore being a car driver and owner is essential.
