Special school nursing service Portesbery School Deepcut Surrey

Band 4 Assistant Practitioner. Special School Nursing Service

Hours: 26 hours per week over 4 week days 08:40- 15:30 term time only

An opportunity has arisen for an exciting role to support the special school nursing team based at Portesbery School in Deepcut Surrey for pupils aged 2 -19 years who have severe learning disability with additional health needs. Our Nursing Service works in partnership with education staff so they are supported to enable the children and young people to safely attend school irrespective of their additional health needs. We ask that the ideal candidate has experience of working with children with special needs and a passion to make a difference in helping to achieve better health outcomes.

Supporting nursing team in training education staff with nursing procedures

  • At least 1 years experience of working with children
  • Experience of children with special needs
  • Experience of dealing with a variety of professionals, peers, personnel on a daily basis.
  • Experience of providing care in a Health, Social, Education or voluntary setting.

  • Ability to work in a timely manner and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, children and young people
  • Basic keyboarding skills
