Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse Childrens Continuing Care
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our childrens continuing care team based in Guildford.
- 37.5 hours per week, working both day and night shifts
- Able to work Surrey-wide
As a senior staff nurse you will work with the team of clinical case managers, staff nurses and childrens community carers. You will provide a consistently high standard of professional, person centred care to children/young people with additional health needs within their homes, educational environment and within the community.
Main duties of the job
Key duties include,
- leading on the clinical care of the child, ensuring the clinical care planning, equipment provision and care package is delivered effectively and efficiently
- maintaining close links with community and both local and tertiary hospital based services, keeping the childs lead clinicians clinically updated as appropriate
- supporting with the planning and delivery of competency based training to Childrens Community Carers and Registered Nurses and on occasion other external agencies who work with the caseload. Evaluating the training and supporting its development.
- Providing training to school and nursery staff identified to facilitate the childs journey into educational establishment
- Participating in the On Call telephone service for rota issues across a 7 day rota
