As the Service Coordinator you will lead the team, motivate staff, problem solve, implement change, be a role model demonstrating the behaviours expected from all the staff with regard to displaying excellent interpersonal skills and high degree of professionalism, upholding the organisation’s standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse wanting develop on the leadership pathway towards becoming a more senior manager. There will be a two day HR management training provided and the opportunity to complete an Institute of Management and Leadership Qualification. You will also be able to access coaching from one of our trained coaches at CSH Surrey.
You will delegate work to a team of Healthcare Assistants who administer insulins to our people in the community. You will also administer people’s daily or twice daily insulin injections, occasionally, where required.
This role is full or part time, hours negotiable between 8:00 and 20:00 over a 7-day service.
This role will require working across Woking, Walton and Staines localities with a choice of base location.

Job responsibilities

Responsible for the scheduling and rescheduling of the Healthcare
Assistant (HCA) insulin visits throughout the day in accordance with the demand
and capacity of the team
·
Responsible for planning non-complex staff rotas in accordance with the
service needs
·
Responsible for administering the Registered Nurse (RN) required
insulins to community patients
·
Responsible for providing clinical support to the HCAs if they have
queries or concerns
·
Accountable for supporting the HCAs with their professional development
·
Performs the correct procedure for blood glucose monitoring as per the
CSH Surrey insulin policy using the designated CSH Surrey agreed medical
device.
·
Ability to confirm the insulin type, dosage, time, patient
identification against a prescription chart.
·
Ability to administer insulin by using the correct injection technique
and safe medicines management principles.
·
Responsible for following the correct escalation processes for clinical
and non-clinical situations
·
Identify and have knowledge of local policies regarding administration
of insulin.
·
Demonstrates knowledge of what constitutes stable and unstable blood
glucose levels for each patient based upon individually set blood glucose
targets.
·
Be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of hypoglycaemia and
hyperglycaemia and give the correct treatment when needed
·
Responsible for assessing and developing care programmes and/or packages
that may be delivered by the postholder or other people
