Job summary
There is a strong emphasis towards continuing professional development and regular opportunities for clinical supervision with experienced clinicians at the trust. The trust offers additional training within the areas of trauma informed care, family work, Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and Sensory Integration Education Network Module 1. There is an established clinical therapy team at Novalis Trust, which consists of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Workers, Drama Therapist and Psychotherapists. There are regular clinical and therapy team meetings to discuss, share and track progress within the individuals therapy and to document outcomes of therapeutic interventions. This post will provide opportunities to develop your professional skills whilst being supported through working in an established team of experienced therapists.
Main duties of the job
It is essential that you are able to work within a team and can evidence your excellent communication skills with the ability to autonomously manage your own caseload. It is recommended that you have some post qualification experience, however, newly qualified individuals with the ability to transfer relevant experience from placements are welcome to apply. The trust offers a preceptorship programme for newly qualified Occupational Therapist. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of core Occupational Therapy skills and be registered with the Health Care Professions Council.
The role will involve providing integrated Occupational Therapy standardised and observation-based assessments and delivering interventions. This may include advising on specialist equipment, developing programmes to help rebuilding lost skills and restore confidence, advising on domestic and workplace environmental alterations and coaching children in social skills and anxiety and behaviour management. In addition, a strong focus will be on implementing sensory regulation strategies working within a trauma informed and attachment focused model of approach.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to work as part of our well-established and friendly team at Cotswold Chine School, following a trauma informed approach. This would include opportunities to support the children with achieving their therapy goals within areas such as sensory, physical, emotional literacy, emotional regulation and independent living skills.
