Job summary

The Clinical and Therapy Assistant position is based at Cotswold Chine School and the surrounding homes, and works as part of a well-established, multi-disciplinary therapy team, supporting within the different settings across the charity, such as within the education, therapy and residential care settings.

Main duties of the job

Supporting children in their therapy goals and taking part in group sessions.

Following skills and therapy programmes as directed and devised by the therapist.

Assisting with the implementation of identified, individual strategies in workshops to support development.

The role would ideally suit a psychology degree graduate or health and social care sciences graduate.

Job responsibilities

- Participating in meetings as directed.

- Assisting a nominated therapist with the implementation of therapeutic input within the care, therapy and education settings.

- Following skills and therapy programmes as directed and devised by the therapist.

- Facilitating the attendance of residents or children at therapy sessions both at the site where you are based and at the Therapy Support Centre.

- Assisting with the implementation of identified, individual strategies in workshops to support development.

- Assisting with the auditing and monitoring of positive outcomes.

- Assisting with the running of group work and developing resources for group work.

- To keep up to date with record keeping including completing feedback forms and regular goal reports.

- Building relationships and engage with residents or children on an individual and group basis.

- Supporting within the homes to establish healthy routine and transfer therapeutic strategies to support with developing life skills.
