Job summary
William Morris school part of Novalis Trust, is a charity that supports children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. The school is one of the few educational establishments in the country to adopt a truly trauma-informed and trauma-responsive approach to care, therapy and education.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Welfare (Boarding) Worker to work in our small 39-week boarding provision, due to open in September 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a senior role in the opening and development of a new provision. You will support the Head of Boarding and Welfare Manager in creating a positive environment that enables pupils to meet their outcomes and work closely with staff from our therapeutic, Youth Support, Care and Education teams.

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities for this role:
Be responsible for ensuring that the boarding provision is run in line with the vision for boarding at William Morris School, Novalis Trust
Support the Head of Boarding and Welfare Manager to ensure the implementation and maintenance of National Minimum Standards within the boarding provision practices and processes.
Requirements for this role are:
A Level 3 qualification in Residential Care
Previous experience working with vulnerable children or adults
Experience of working with people in a person-centred way
Able to take the lead in the boarding provision whilst working in the home; supporting less experienced staff
An ability to adapt your approach to individual needs and come up with creative solutions to overcome challenges will also help.
A keenness to learn and a willingness to implement our model of approach and best practice models

Support the Head of Boarding and Welfare Manager to support the development of boarding at William Morris School, Novalis Trust
Act as an appropriate role model for all the boarders.
