Role Purpose:
This is variable hours position with Lagans
Foundations specialist training team.
Lagans Foundation is seeking a highly qualified
and motivated individual to join our specialist training team as an Clinical
Skills Trainer and Assessor. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role
in ensuring that our internal care team is equipped with the necessary clinical
skills to meet the unique needs of each child under our care, while maintaining
compliance with regulatory standards.
Breadth of Responsibility:
1. Deliver comprehensive clinical skills training and assessments, with a
focus on tracheostomy care, NP suction, oral suction, nebulization, and other
complex clinical procedures.
2. Possess a Full & Clean Driving License, own car with Business Use
Insurance, and maintain a clean DBS.
3. Hold NMC Qualification with a valid PIN and no work restrictions.
4. Conduct introduction sessions for new families with clinical care
requirements and provide ongoing support.
5. Update care plans and risk assessments as necessary, ensuring alignment
with the evolving needs of the children.
6. Identify and communicate specific training requirements related to
individual care needs.
7. Provide training to care staff in complex community clinical care
skills.
8. Monitor and maintain infection control standards, implementing
additional measures when required.
9. Regularly communicate with families to ensure their clinical needs are
met and address any concerns promptly.
10.Report and escalate child protection concerns to the Local Authority
following established protocols.
11.Collaborate with care teams, line managers, and other stakeholders to
ensure effective coordination and communication.
12.Lead and manage students on placement with the charity.
13.Work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed to
accommodate the schedules of children, families, and the charity.

regarding the relevance and quality of the training sessions.

observations with care staff.

communication within the team, families, and external stakeholders.
Feedback on communication and
relationship-building skills from families, staff, and management.

scores from families regarding the quality of care provided.
Number of positive testimonials and

Resolution and improvement of any
concerns raised by families.

standards and the implementation of additional measures when required.

Timely reporting of any child
protection concerns to the Local Authority.
Compliance with Local Authority
Childrens Safeguarding Board protocols.

These key performance measures will help evaluate
the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall impact of the RCN Clinical Skills
Trainer in contributing to the success of Lagans Foundation in providing
high-quality care to children in need.
Administration:
Carry out all the administrative
duties in relation to the role. Feedback forms, Assessments, Mileage and
anything else which relates to the requirements of the role.
Accurate and timely management of
documentation and reporting.
Feedback on training delivery, carer
compliance, risk assessments and care plans so managers can make changes
effectively and in a timely manner to support other carers and keep the
children and staff safe.
Attendance of team meets face to face
and online
Attendance of 6 weekly supervision
