We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen at Badger Group which
is a social enterprise that works with key stakeholders including NHS
Trusts, local authorities, local Councillors & MPs and GPs to
deliver best patient care.
Responsible for delivering comprehensive, expert advice and guidance
to managers across the organisation. You will support line managers with
our people processes throughout the lifecycle of the employee journey.
You will work alongside the HR Business Partners and Head of HR in a proactive manner.
You will have highly developed organisational and time management
skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You
are highly motivated to excel in your role to provide a comprehensive
and effective HR service.
You will build and maintain excellent professional relationships with
internal and external stakeholders whilst delivering excellent high
standards of advice and guidance.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the Badger Group HR function, you will manage the day-to-day HR andrecruitment operational work at Badger Group using your knowledge and experience acrosscore HR disciplines. You will work alongside other members of the HR team and managersto ensure that best practices and procedures are adhered to throughout the organisation.As a HR Advisor you will support Badger by developing and strengthening our peopleprocesses throughout the lifecycle of the employee journey in an environment where you willbe helping to develop and embed HR and recruitment practices.

The Birmingham and District GP Emergency Room (Badger) Ltd
is a not-for-profit social enterprise healthcare co-operative which includes,
as part of its group of companies, Badger Medical Ltd, Badger Healthcare Ltd
and Sett Support Partnership Plc. It has an annual turnover of £13 million and
currently has a staff population of 422 people. 246 are non-clinical staff
members and 176 are self-employed clinicians, the former currently spread

Badger was established in 1996 by local doctors who joined
together to initially provide an improved out-of-hours service for their
patients. Today Badger has over 230 opted in GP members in 60+ practices and
provides 24/7 message handling, urgent primary care and GP out of hours service
to a patient base of 1.6 million. It operates out of four sites in Birmingham
located at Bourne Road in Aston, Glover Street, Stockland Green and Solihull
Urgent Treatment Centre. It has received 'Outstanding' rating by the Care
Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in all five areas: safe, effective, caring,
responsive and well-led.

Provide first-line advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures. Enable managers to reduce sickness absence through pro-active management of long and short-term sickness cases with a person-centred approach as the principal focus. Provide efficient and effective employee relations casework management processes including disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, performance and attendance management. Supporting managers, taking part in meetings, formal hearings and producing notes, formal minutes and reports. Ensuring this is compliant with law, policy and good practice. Provide recruitment advice and support to managers with general recruitment enquiries and support Senior Management to identify and manage recruitment needs. Engage with line managers to support employees personal development needs are met through appraisal completions, inductions, and coaching, mentoring, learning and development interventions. Provide a timely response to all enquiries whether received by letter, email or telephone and deal with all enquiries sensitively, effectively and where necessary escalate to the appropriate person to rectify any issues/queries accordingly. Work with the HR Team to support people management training to up skill managers, and spotting areas for development based on queries received by the HR service. To maintain accurate records of all employment-related cases are completed within timescales and department records updated. To undertake specific projects and tasks as directed. To attend department and team meetings as appropriate.
