Job summary

To facilitate Safe Haven provision in Woking. The purpose of the Safe Haven is to provide an alternative for people who are currently attending A&E when they suffer a mental health crisis, both in person and virtually. Additionally it provides a safety net for people who might otherwise get to crisis point. Experience of working with this client group is essential.

Main duties of the job

The Safe Haven provides an alternative for people who are currently attending A&E when they suffer a mental health crisis, both in person and virtually. Additionally is provides a safety net for people who might otherwise get to crisis point.

As part of a team you will support those visiting and risk assess those in mental health crisis. Utilise motivational interviewing techniques and active listening skills in order to support individuals and create safety plans for those experiencing suicidal ideation. You will also provide a continual assessment of a persons needs regarding their mental health and work collaboratively with partner agency staff to ensure continuity of care.

Job responsibilities

This role is working evenings and you must be able to work Two or three shifts of 5 hours per week (6-11pm Monday to Sunday), you must be able to work at least one shift over a weekend.

Provide support to visitors attending the Safe Haven both in person and virtually
