Job summary
To support the smooth running
of an out of hours crisis prevention and support service. The Safe Haven model
is a partnership approach of community connections and statutory mental health
providers.
The aim of the Safe Haven
service is to reduce emotional and psychological distress by providing an
alternative provision to attending A&E for anyone experiencing or at risk
of escalating to a mental health crisis alongside any carers.
Main duties of the job
Manage rotas, ensuring
there is adequate cover for holiday and sickness
Solve issues of staff cover
with partner organisations as they arise
Undertake monthly team meetings
with all Safe Haven staff
Deliver one to one
supervision for staff, ensuring all performance issues, complaints and support
needs are addressed (the frequency of these is dependent on the number of
shifts the worker has done in a month)
Support with annual appraisals
for Safe Haven staff
Ensure all Catalyst staff
are following the incident management process, utilising the on-call rota and
24 hour timelines on incident forms
Participate in the on-call
rota, ensuring you are able to respond to urgent calls, follow-up and report
incidents during Safe Haven opening times
Liaise with the Service
Manager and Head of Operations in preparation for the Service Review and
Steering Group Meetings in relation to service delivery
Work with the Service
Manager around operational efficiencies
Work with the Service
Manager around any complaints, grievances and serious performance issues
Develop relationships with
service users, carers and statutory and non-statutory organisations, in order
to provide more integrated preventative and crisis management provision
Ensure high quality
services are delivered consistently and adhere to best practice guidelines

We are currently looking for experienced Senior Mental Health Support Worker to help manage the Safe Haven site in Woking
Salary: £30,000 + on call allowance
Hours: 35 hours but negotiable for the right candidate and will include afternoons, evenings and weekend hours. Hours of work to be discussed.

This is a hands on role where you will be taking on a variety of tasks such as but not restricted to:
Manage rotas, ensuring there is adequate cover for holidays and sickness

Ensuring all staff are following the correct processes
Liaise with the Service Manager and Head of Operations in preparation for the Service Review and steering group meetings in relation to service delivery

Develop relationships with service users, carers and statutory and non- statutory organisations, to help provide an more integrated service

- Confidence to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Robust professional boundaries
