Job summary

Have you ever considered working at Nottinghamshire Hospice but you dont have experience in palliative care?

Time to think again!!

Nottinghamshire Hospice offers staff the unique privilege to walk alongside patients and their families on this final journey while providing care and support. We deliver high-quality, excellent palliative care for patients across Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire Hospice provides care and support for those living with a life-limiting condition while caring for families and friends as well, both before and after death.

People are cared for in their own home. Our goal is to help people make the most of their lives, in ways that are important to THEM. This care may sometimes include the patient coming into the Hospice as part of our wellbeing and reablement offer.

You will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team, in a professional service making a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. In an environment where the patient is truly the centre of care. You are part of a supportive and fun team where everyone is valued for their unique skills and experience. You do not need palliative care experience (although that would be great) as we offer a comprehensive induction package. Our Hospice Night Support (HNS) Team provides care to people in their own homes through the night either through a planned visit or for unplanned visits for patients who require care more urgently.

Main duties of the job

You will work in teams of two and the shifts run from 7.00pm until 4.30am or 9.30pm until 7.00am. You will be expected to work either shift throughout the week including weekends and bank holidays.

You must have Health Care Assistant experience and possess a minimum of NVQ 3 or equivalent. Support will be given to the postholder to develop their career ambitions. You must possess a full UK driving license and be able to drive a Hospice vehicle, which will include driving around a wide geographical area
