Job summary

italk is one of the largest Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services in the country, run in partnership by Solent Mind and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. Together, we support around 2,000 local people each month to make lasting changes to their mental wellbeing through our range of evidence-based talking therapies. italk is an innovative and growing service and our Outreach Team is the first of its kind dedicated to improving equity of access to the service. If youre passionate about equality of access to mental health support, this role is an opportunity to join our team as an Outreach Co-Ordinator.

Main duties of the job

As our Outreach Co-Ordinator your role will include:

Engaging meaningfully and effectively with the local community in order to understand peoples experiences of accessing italk and the opportunities to improve inclusion and equity of access.

Within your geographic patch, representing the service at community events and networking with relevant stakeholders to raise awareness of italk, and facilitate timely and effective signposting and referral.

Contribute community perspectives to service development and improvement initiatives, including our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Roadmap, and co-ordinating projects to improve equity of access.

This post has frequent travel across Hampshire for community engagement, plus occasional travel to our Eastleigh head office for resources or event equipment and team meetings.

Essential

  • Level 2 qualifications in (GCSE 9 - 4 or equivalent) in English, Maths and ICT.

Desirable

  • Level 3 or above qualifications in a relevant field such as social or behavioral sciences, communications or marketing.
  • Training in Project Management or Business Administration.
  • Relevant mental health training such as psychology, counselling, CBT or Mental Health First Aid.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of leading projects, taking responsibility for delivering the projects goals to agreed deadlines, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and evaluating results.
  • Experience of effective community engagement work or co-production, preferably with disadvantaged groups or groups underserved by public services.
  • Experience of presenting or public speaking

  • Experience of creating and implementing promotional campaigns, preferably for a healthcare or community benefit.
