Job summary

The purpose of this role is to play a key part inensuring and maintaining operational capability andeffectiveness. The role will support both clinical andoperational functions with the smooth clinical deliveryacross both airbases and supporting Clinical Managers and Clinical Delivery Lead.

About us

Our aim is to save lives, reduce or prevent disability, or suffering from critical illness andinjury, by delivering a first class pre-hospital emergency medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.

Our highly skilled and specially trained pre-hospital care doctors and critical care paramedics work alongside our regional partners using helicopters and rapid response vehicles fitted with state-of-the art life-saving equipment. Our critical care teams are dispatched by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

We are here to assist everyone who lives, works, or is travelling through the region. The service is provided by the charity free of charge to patients of all ages, from every background and faith, who require the most advanced clinical care.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Clinical Supplies

  • Complete a weekly stock check of both medical stores, collating store requests fromduty teams at alternate bases.
  • Liaise with medical suppliers and negotiate prices on new equipment managing day-today purchases including VAT certificates and purchase orders.
  • Accept receipt of arriving stock, distributing across the operation.
  • Collect and deliver pharmacy items when required.

Equipment & Equipment Maintenance

  • Forecast and manage maintenance to maintain operational readiness, identifying equipment requiring scheduled maintenance and escalate as required.
  • Respond to incident reports and collaborate with service managers relating to fault, repairs and replacement.
  • Support change management processes to deliver new operational equipment.
  • Oversee and manage return of equipment for sterilising.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of PPE are available to team escalate short falls appropriately.
  • Organise manikin maintenance and repair as part of supplier maintenance contracts.

Audits

  • Complete a bi-annual stock reconciliation withfull date checks across the operation.
  • Audit and provide stock management of disposable PPE items.
  • Conduct a monthly review of training equipment and manikins.
  • Perform weekly deep clean of equipment on rotation and RLU swabbing and report collation.
  • Complete stab vest checks and cleaning and replacement as required.

Education & Training

  • Provide support for sim and install equipment and manikins for scenarios and training courses.
  • Collaborate across charitable areas to ensure room bookings for courses.
  • Support logistics & IT support for courses and training days incl. pre-planning.
  • Maintain service contracts for training equipment.
  • Participate in training moulages when required.

Staffing

  • Support induction of new clinical staff including PPE and Kit allocation.
  • Support induction of observers and those individuals undertaking elective placements.
  • Support Clinical Managers with administrative tasks.

Other Duties

  • Any other duties deemed reasonable and withprior consultation with line management.
  • Assist operations by receiving fuel deliveries when necessary.
  • Support fleet movement utilising clinical volunteer/facilities assistant when necessary.
  • Support wider charity function and departments.
  • As EHAAT is a patient-focused emergency medical charity, it is essential that all our team are competent and confident in the delivery of CPR and the use of an AED (defibrillator) in an emergency. For this reason, you will be trained in CPR and AED awareness annually.
