An opportunity has arisen to appoint a part time Data Analysts to the Business Intelligence department. The primary responsibility of the post holder will be to deliver information analysis and reporting, and to assist in implementing Business Intelligence solutions that support service improvement and management.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a team player and will work in conjunction with the Data Intelligence Manager in creating a data transformation program that includes the automation of reporting processes. The post holder will require a good understanding of analytical and statistical techniques that can be applied to healthcare information.

The permanent part -time post is based on 19 hours per week.

Salary Range: £28,407 to £34,581 per annum pro rata depending on experience.

Job responsibilities

The Data Analyst will work with Senior Management and Operational staff to develop and deliver a quality information and analysis service, providing them with the full range of business intelligence they require to manage services effectively, and to support future planning and service development.

The Data Analyst will be required to possess in-depth knowledge of mathematics, statistical analysis and modelling techniques acquired through degree (or equivalent) level knowledge and experience.

The Data Analyst will be expected to have a good understanding and knowledge of relational databases, information reporting / dashboarding and sql querying. Ideally this will be based on the Microsoft BI stack, including SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, MS Excel and PowerBI.

The Data Analyst will carry out work on data preparation, data quality, data analysis, modelling, forecasting and the creation and presentation of standard, regular and bespoke reports and dashboards for both internal and external customers. The aim will be to address customer / service user requirements, support strategic planning, decision making, performance management, service improvement and service redesign.

The Data Analyst will also work on defined projects and programmes as well as responding to ad hoc requests for information analysis. The role requires the post holder to adopt a proactive and flexible approach and to use initiative in problem solving.
