Main duties of the job
Locala Sexual Health service operates in Stockport, Tameside, Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Bradford. We are a non-judgemental service offering care for STI testing and treatment, contraception both routine and for emergency situations. Referrals for termination of pregnancy, dealing with vulnerable patients from a variety of settings. We pride ourselves in offering the best levels of care across all aspects of the service from answering the phone to making sure patients have the best possible experience. A non-judgement approach and open mindedness is key to the success of this joint flexible role.
The post holder will work in the Locala Sexual Health Clinics as part of a team of Medical, Nursing and Administration colleagues. The role involves contact with patients for both aspects of the role, from answering the phone system, booking in at reception and other administration duties as well as offering basic health care assistance to patients when doing observations and chaperoning clinical colleagues during procedures. They will assist with the smooth running of the clinics and will undertake simple clinical procedures having been deemed competent in the activities required. The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in order to maximise the independence of patients who are accessing the service.
The post holder is expected to work across Stockport and Tameside sites as required by the needs of the service.
